The Christmas Tree (and DWB/FTLOD card exchange)

Yesterday, we put up our Christmas tree. We had a hard time figuring out a) if we should put up a little one on a table top or b) barricade a floor tree or c) not put one up this year. Well......"c" was shot down right away. We almost went with choice "a" but in the end didn't simply because those trees were only $5 less than a tree twice its size! We were able to put the tree up without barricading it (YET!) after moving furniture around slightly to accomodate the tree in a corner. We've never had the tree in this particular spot before but it actually works quite well. Willow has sniffed the tree but otherwise could care less about it and of course the little white tornado (aka LWT) has taken two ornaments off the bottom and then run full-speed across the house with them. I was *smart* and we didn't put any glass ornaments on the tree this year, the ones that have some sentimental value are at the top, and only half the ornaments were even unpacked and put on the tree. That way if there's a catastrophe with the LWT, it won't be the end of the world!

This was Kai's way of helping.....trying to sit in the ornament box. Thankfully, L "caught his butt" before he was able to!

One of our favorite "doggie" ornaments....This one says "Six Great Danes Growing"!! And speaking of ornaments, I unpacked several of the dogs' ornaments that were personalized back in 1998....which means that none of our current pack has a personalized ornament! How did that happen? Unfortunately, I don't see them getting one this year either. Not with 3 danes to feed at the moment.....ha!

And poor Halo.....she was displaced in order to fit the tree in a spot out of the way. Her two beds are usually in the corner where the tree now is. She spends A LOT of time in those beds. She feels protected having them in the corner and she is totally lost now that they've been moved. She kept going to the tree and sitting underneath it, as if to say, "excuse me, this is MY spot and I'm not moving!" She did finally figure out where her bed is now and slept the rest of the evening in her bed!

And we're SOOOOOO excited! The DWB and FTLOD cards have started to arrive! We received a whole handful of them yesterday. Here is Willow posing with Arabella's card :) I promise to get ours in the mail tomorrow....they're ready to go! Now my question is this.....how do you all display (or plan to display) all of these cards? I want to hang them up but am unsure of the best (and nicest) way to do it. Ideas??

Hey Guys!
Glad you enjoyed my card, I can't wait for some to come to me.

Last year we put all our cards on the wall with this stuff: http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=07014884&category_Id=cat930014

This year we've put up some strings and are going to attach them mini clothes pins. I'll have to post a photo.

This is for Halo: I, Jakey, totally understand how you feel. As you might have seen on our blog, THEY moved my bowls for Thanksgiving -- and even though the bowls came back to their rightful place yesterday -- I'm not sure if I can forgive the disruption!!!

Not sure what I can tell you -- other than to remind you that humans do not always have our same priorities.

Love to all (and a special smooch to Princess Willow from JH)!!!

Hi, friends!
Sure you had fun putting up your christmas tree!
We will do it today!
We don't have a lot of space in my house so we put the cards on a door.
Kisses and hugs

We feel so bad for Halo! Can't someone slide her bed under the tree?!
Mom grabbed a roll of Christmas wrapping paper and covered our hallway door with it! Now we can tape up all of our Christmas cards! If we run out of room we'll have to come up with Plan B!

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

Oh poor Halo! Can't her bed go where it was and move the tree? We don't understand humans sometimes.

Great new blog pals.
Hope you got our card. We sent it off before we went on holiday to the kennel.
We put our cards up all around the tv so we can see them all the time.

It's very exciting! We've received so many e-cards that The Girl is far behind in even opening them, BOL!

I'm not sure where we're going to display our cards yet. Girlie has to get onto it, though, because there's not much time yet!

Poor Halo. Brown dog kisses for her!

BARK! Halo, just move your bed into the middle of the room, like I do. Then I always know where it is! And dumb Max always sits on everything and everyone too. BARK- Sasha the Princess!

I personally think sitting in the ornament box is very helpful! lol
Mom and Dad were discussing at lunch what to do with cards in our new house and Mom is thinking about stringing a piece od twine along a big wall (now that we have big walls in our house) and put the cards on there kind of like a clothes line, but hten she was also looking at hanging them up on the door that leads to the garage since it's a big white bare spot. Hopefully they'll decide soon!!!

We are trying to visit here and there, but Mom read this post and wanted to say "Warning! Warning Will Robinson!!"
You had said your good ornaments were at the top. When Mom was a teenage pup she had a Basset pup-uh-well, she(not mom, the Basset) went on a run by the tree, grabbed a branch and kept going. So did the tree. Just sayin...
lol
